1. Floors and surfaces
Check for steps, steep ramps, loose mats, difficult thresholds, floor transitions and other route conditions that may affect the selected platform.
2. Connectivity
Map network coverage wherever the robot must operate, especially corridors, service zones, lift lobbies and back-of-house areas. The exact connectivity requirement varies by platform and integration.
3. Lifts and doors
If the route crosses floors or controlled doors, treat those systems as explicit integration items with named owners, approved interfaces and fallback behaviour.
4. Route width and congestion
Measure narrow points and review peak traffic. A route that works in an empty building may behave differently during visitor, patient, guest or staff peaks.
5. Charging and home position
Identify a suitable power and docking location outside the main traffic flow and close enough to the robot operating area.
6. People and operating rules
Public-facing environments need a documented operating model for children, elderly visitors, crowds, blocked routes and manual intervention.

Does every building need modifications?
No. Requirements depend on the robot and route. Some sites may only need mapping and a charging location, while others need lift, door or access-system integration.
